Halfway Out of the Dark

IS CHINA'S LATEST DECLARATION A SIGN OF DESPERATION?
China, along with the rest of the global economy, is facing oncoming dire straits. The Eurozone is trembling and tumbling. Exports aren't looking good. Promises to shift China's growth sector to a consumer services economy face the challenge of billions upon billions of wealth concentrated in the bank accounts of the top 1%. But the top 1% aren't spending in China. They're opening foreign bank accounts, occasioning capital flight, buying luxury import cars, and purchasing foreign estates.
These are pre-cursors to the onset of a Depression, but let's move on.
A recently widely-released report states that the length of the Great Wall is not the previously meticulously archaeologically and geologically determined 8,850 kilometers but in fact 21,196 kilometers long.
That is equivalent to 13,171 miles, MORE THAN HALF OF THE CIRCUMFERENCE OF THE ENTIRE PLANET.
When I first viewed this report, at www.dailymail.co.uk, I assumed that a decimal point had been moved accidentally.
Every news source I've reviewed has reported the same numbers. Even Wikipedia states:
"A comprehensive archaeological survey, using advanced technologies, has concluded that the Ming walls measure 8,850 km (5,500 mi). This is made up of 6,259 km (3,889 mi) sections of actual wall, 359 km (223 mi) of trenches and 2,232 km (1,387 mi) of natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers. Another archaeological survey found that the entire wall with all of its branches measure out to be 21,196 km (13,171 mi)."
That's a pretty big difference.
Going back to the Daily Mail (of all things), we find this:
"In an archaeological survey that took five years to complete, China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage announced yesterday that the wall measures 21,196.18 km (13,170.69 miles).... The wall was put on the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation's list of World Heritage sites in 1987.
"The survey revealed a total of 43,721 heritage sites."

In other words, China's Cultural Heritage drones were instructed to include the dimensions of 43,721 "heritage" sites, and their dimensions, including natural barriers, military fortifications (however trivial, including quarters and latrines), rivers, and of course the actual Wall itself, in the numbers included in this five-year survey. Everything and anything that could be considered a connected "heritage" site even remotely associated with the construction of the Great Wall itself, over a period of nearly 1,000 years, has been included.
Is the Great Wall 21,200 kilometers in length?
No. China itself, along with the U.S. and Australia, each only span about 5,000 km from West to East.
Did the Chinese build a Wall that could easily span the United States four times over?
NO.
That China would produce such a report is an indication of desperation, a combination of hope to provoke national pride, UNESCO support, tourism, tourism investment, academic interest, what have you. Meanwhile, it's such an absurd claim that it can't do otherwise than ultimately embarrass the corrupt Chinese bureacracy.
It's revealing of the "one-world" perspective of the Chinese. To the Chinese in general, there IS only China, and China is all there is.
The original survey, using "advanced technologies", had already established the length of the wall.
China is bordering on desperate, and its handlers know it.
